George Appiah

George Appian is a Regional Team Lead based in Cape Coast. George is an experienced education policy and delivery practitioner with more than 20 years’ work experience throughout the 16 regions of Ghana and an emphasis on effective education policy implementation, stakeholder management, programme/project management & coordination, social policy and service delivery accountability and innovation. 

He has very significant expertise in developing and executing education development programmes, focusing on systems accountability strengthening, leadership and management capacity building and facilitating strong multi-stakeholder engagements and collaborations that promote sound educational governance for improved student learning outcomes. 

He has worked in different positions across a number of projects, including Ghana Project Manager, with Education Partnerships Group (EPG), Education Specialist, District Programmes Coordinator, Training Officer, all with Education Development Center (EDC), and Project ManagerDeputy Chief of Party both with CARE International in Ghana. 

He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Honours and Master of Arts from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

His underpinning philosophy is that every child can achieve and that “Of all the gifts we give our children, quality education must be the most precious.”
