What drives impactful education?
Collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to development.

GESI
T-TEL’s GESI work focuses on five strategic directions in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and its agencies. These include influencing curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment to be GESI-responsive; strengthening school leaders’ capacity to be GESI-responsive; supporting school management in creating safe environments and addressing gender-based violence; tracking progress and facilitating learning through research and communication; and building a Community of GESI Allies to drive the equality and inclusion agenda.
Curriculum Reform
Curriculum reform is one of our key focus areas. We support the development and enhancement of curricula at various educational levels, including basic schools, secondary education, teacher education, and Bachelor of Education programs. We work with relevant government agencies such as the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and West African Examination Council.

Teacher Professional Development
Teacher Professional Development is at the core of educational reform. We support the Ghana Education Service to institutionalise and integrate professional learning communities into the school culture. This involves facilitating weekly school-based professional learning community sessions led by coordinators who use structured handbooks based on the curriculum content.
Leadership Capacity Development
School boards and senior management in schools play a crucial role in implementing pedagogical strategies, fostering Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and ensuring appropriate facilities. We collaborate with the Ghana Education Service to provide targeted capacity development support to school board members, enabling them to effectively fulfill their responsibilities and proactively enhance educational quality.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning
We conduct regular monitoring, research, and evaluation to assess whether curriculum reforms are consistently translated into improved teaching and learning in classrooms and improved learning outcomes. We also ensure that lessons from the regular monitoring and research studies are accessible, practical, and used to adapt teaching and learning methodologies for improved outcomes. We are open to pursuing opportunities for publication in professional journals, including ones that are peer reviewed.
Quality Assurance & Accountability
External assessment of the new curriculum and teachers’ pedagogical skills, along with standardized postgraduate certification, are crucial.
