Dinah Adiko
Dinah Adiko is a Gender and Inclusion Expert with over twenty-one years of experience. She is our Key Advisor on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI). Ms Adiko was the Key Advisor on GESI for the T-TEL programme, where she supported 46 public Colleges of Education in Ghana to mainstream GESI in their institutions and make teacher education more GESI responsive. One key achievement was her role in supporting GTEC to develop a five-year National GESI Strategy and Action Plan for Teacher Education (2020 – 2025). She was also instrumental in Colleges of Education efforts to tackle sexual harassment through the development of sexual harassment policies and the establishment of response mechanisms.
Ms. Adiko worked previously as the Technical Advisor on Gender at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection of the Republic of Ghana. Part of her roles at the Ministry included the provision of technical guidance to the Ministry on implementing and monitoring all laws and policies that seek to reduce gender-based violence and promote gender equality. She was also the technical expert in charge of Ghana’s national campaign on ending child marriage and the technical advisor to the National Domestic Violence Secretariat.
Over the years, Dinah has provided technical assistance and consultancy services on GESI to organisations such as the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), Hewlett Foundation, USA, Plan International Ghana, World Bank, CAMFED, University of Education, Winneba, Ashesi University, Africa Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA), Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, and Alinea Foundation.
