PROFESSOR ERIC ANANE
Prof Eric Anane is a key advisor of assessment. He has a doctoral degree in Measurement, Evaluation and Cognition from Durham University, UK. He is consulted widely on test development, and the conduct of credible professional assessments; performance improvement and value-added assessments, and professional licensure examinations. He has been involved in the organisation and delivery of Workshops to staff of universities locally and internationally on the use of assessments to improve learning in education in collaboration with the Association of African Universities (AAU). Prof Anane has been involved in several research projects such as the European Union School Improvement Project in UK with CEM, Durham University, UK; the evaluation of the Complementary Basic Education in Ghana by DFID with DRIC; Validation of the IPIPS in Ghana with CEM, Durham University, UK. His research interests are wide-ranging and include Evaluation Methodologies; Evidence-Based Education; School Effectiveness and Improvement, including the use of Innovative Pedagogies; the use and effects of Self-Regulated learning Models, especially in pre- and in-service teacher training. He is skilled in the development of Psychometric Tools, statistical comparability of examinations in different subjects and over time. His methodological expertise lies in areas such as general statistical analysis, mediational analysis, experimental and mix-methods design, meta-analysis, multilevel-modelling, construct development and measurement, and item response models. Prof Anane is the Director at the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast and the former Director for Centre for Teacher Professional Development of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is an external examiner for the Centre for Teacher Professional Development and Excellence, Kenyatta University, Kenya and an active member of Mixed Methods International Research Association.
