Marjorie Tackie

Marjorie Naa Afi Tackie is a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coordinator at Transforming Teaching, Education & Learning (T-TEL). She holds a first degree in Geography and Resource Development and a Master’s of Arts, Migration Studies, both degrees from the University of Ghana. Her experience working in academia and international development as an education researcher inspired her to join the Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) programme in March 2017. She has strong expertise in GESI analyses and audits, GESI mainstreaming and results-based management. As part of the T-TEL programme team, she supported the development of the Gender responsive rubric scorecard which was used to assess and measure the degree of implementation of gender responsive strategies in Colleges of Education (CoEs) in Ghana. Marjorie was involved in the development and roll-out of the Gender Handbook for Teaching Practice Schools across the country. Her work with national education stakeholders like the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) contributed to the development and implementation of responsive policies like the Gender in Education and Sexual Harassment Policy Guidelines for tertiary institutions. Her role was also pivotal in the performance, completion and validation of the grants-based Gender Responsive Improvement Plans (GRIPs) which boosted CoEs efforts to become GESI responsive.
